Sleepover, Police and Fried Bananas by Nicole Kristen Bandy Mccandless |
||||
What is better than a TBS sleepover? A TBS almost-sleepover, of course! It was a dark and stormy night…well, actually no. It was nice out, considering it was February. Candidates for membership thought they were being taken out for dinner by their big sisters in order to get to know each other better before the third degree. Each big made up an excuse for going to the music building. A folder left behind, something to turn in were examples of the excuses thought up by the active members. As each pair entered room 120 of the music building, the candidates looked confused before realizing that there was no dinner; instead, there was a party for everyone. There was plenty of food and fun. There was even a round of Dance Dance Revolution projected to 20 feet tall on one of the walls. Nick, our president and closet cook, provided the dessert. It was a yummy fried banana dish. The candidates were taught a fun new game and everyone took a field trip though the tunnels connecting the two music |

buildings. The real reason for the party was for the candidates to finish interviewing the active members. Once it was dark, paranoia took over when a few members ‘disappeared’ and then the police showed up. Everything turned out to be fine and the police said that we had to leave by midnight. So the plans for a sleepover were foiled, but it was ok. We were partied out. We finished the night with a candle light discussion with both the candidates and the active members. The night could not have been more enjoyable, even if we did not sleep in the music building which really is our second home. |
